Replacing My Toshiba Satellite C660-15 With the HP Stream 11

After having to suffer with a slow Windows experience for some time, that seemed to get better when I updated Windows from Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Now with the latest batch ow Windows Insider builds of Windows 10 Pro it seems to be returning to the slowness of when I was running Windows 8.1 Pro.

I decided to Upgrade to the HP Stream 11, despite having the same Storage shortcomings as the HP Stream 7 (only 32GB of flash storage) it’s definitely snappier than my old Toshiba even though it’s only got 2GB of RAM, but that’s probably down to the fact that it’s got a emmc SSD Drive instead of a SATA HDD and a duel core processor compared to a single core porocessor.

Pro’s

  • Fast Flash Storage.
  • Dual Core Processor.
  • USB 3.0 & USB 2.
  • Micro SD Slot.
  • HDMI Output.
  • Fanless Design.
  • Long Battery Life.
  • Ability to Save Documents, Pictures & Videos directly to a Micro SD Card.
  • Ability to Install Windows 10 Apps to a Micro SD Card.
  • Ability to use a Micro SD Card as an extension of the built in storage for None-Windows Apps.

Con’s

  • Limited none upgradable Storage.

The HP Stream 11 is an ideal replacement for a bulky Laptop for anyone that needs to do work and maybe a bit of light gaming from the Windows Store while on the road or for anyone that wants to relax on the sofa and use a none Tablet device.

Along with the HP Stream 11 that’s a replacement for my Toshiba Satellite C660-15R I’ve also got an Acer C720 Chromebook and compared to my HP Stream 11 my Acer Chromebook feels a lot heavier.

The HP Stream 11 and any of the various Chromebooks out there make ideal companions as Chromebooks excel at being fast and simple to use, which is ideal for just watching YouTube videos or purely web browsing, whereas the HP Stream 11 excels at being a cheap ultra-portable at an affordable price with more options of how to go about your work than a Chromebook.
